About Me!
My name is Abigail Anthony, but I usually go by Abby. I am a Sports and Recreation major at UNE and hope to work for a professional sports team once I graduate! I have always had a passion for sports. UNE offers amazing opportunities for women who are majoring in Sports Management. From a young age, I was always in the presence of sports whether it was me playing or watching them on television. On football Sundays, my Dad and I would watch every game from one in the afternoon to ten at night. I figured out I’m happiest in the presence of sports and other fans. This inspired me to take it to another level and make a career out of it! I hope to work on the managerial side for the Boston Bruins! It is my biggest hope to be surrounded by some of my idols while showing female representation in a field of work that is predominantly male. I’m most excited to learn the ins and outs of the business side of professional sports teams. For teams to be successful, they need many different roles that do the behind-the-scenes work, which I would love to be a part of.

I’m from a small town in Massachusetts twenty minutes outside of Boston. I grew up going to Red Sox games and taking day trips into the city while spending most of my summers in New Hampshire. This has made me the person I am today. I love taking the T into Boston and going to the local Feasts, the North End, and Bruins games. Meanwhile, I equally love the outdoors, specifically the beach. I grew up fishing, kayaking, swimming, and tubing on Lake Opechee in Laconia New Hampshire. My love for the water especially helped with my decision to spend my college years at UNE!

Although my love for sports dictated my career choice, my family always thought I would work with animals. I have a cat named Aladdin and a dog named Zeus. I adore both of them and can’t wait to spend time with them during my college breaks! Because of my connection with my pets, it made me realize that seeing other animals sick would not be fun. I get the best of both worlds by following my interests and having my pets to come home to.
